do you ever tire of how, like, dramatic anxiety is?? it’s like. bitch. bitch. it’s not that serious. we’ll live. it’ll probably be a pain in the ass, but we’ll live. so stop making me feel like i’m actively dying.
Image of the Day: dwarves new to the Surface wear sunglasses to deal with how bright all this shit gets
Additional concepts, dwarves new to the surface dressed for rugged travel and combat but also dope sunglasses of all shapes and sizes (one particularly popular look is a light blue lens called “lyrium blue” and non-dwarves are not quite clear if dwarves are just straight up wearing lyrium for pure aesthetic) AND parasols. Lots of parasols. Dainty parasols. Stabbing parasols. Parasols that are both dainty and very good at stabbing. Pastel lace pink parasols and glossy sturdy black ones. Parasols to keep the untanned skin shielded from the sun and also, because of dwarven height, to conveniently poke out the eyes of any non-dwarves who get too close.
The most dangerous thing in a city street is a stylish dwarf fresh from orzammar in her tinted lens and her three foot wide intricately designed parasol with alarmingly sharp edges.
Today I want to point out a really amazing Eowyn fact! I feel like this one’s pretty easy to miss (given that it happens in like 3 pages), and given that the movie made an entirely different string of choices in terms of the Rohirrim storyline (which has its own merits - totally different discussion here).
So in the Two Towers, when Theoden is awakened by Gandalf and freed from Grima’s clutches, Eomer is actually still there. He wasn’t banished, just locked up in Edoras for treason.
So when Theoden decides to ride out to meet the enemy, he of course is going to take Eomer with him. Eomer is named his heir, of course he would ride with his uncle! But that leaves Edoras unguarded and un-governed, since they’re leaving all the civilians there.
So who does Hama say they want to govern them? Eowyn, of course! Because she’s badass and beloved by all the citizens! Who wouldn’t want her as their queen?
I think we all need to take a moment and remember Eowyn not only as a fearless shield-maiden and warrior, but also as a ruler beloved by her people - Standing in full armor as she watches the king ride away.
