Gamora straight up being introduced as the last of her people in gotg and then the infinity war turning around and saying that ACTUALLY her planet is thriving because of Thanos’ genocide and that Gamora should be grateful that he murdered her family and took her away is uhhhhhh …. vile

I’m kinda thinking that he lied to manipulate her. He never says anything other than things like “there’s no more fighting” or “no more children are going hungry” which are all true from a certain point of view. Idk if he hid the truth of them dying out from her, or if he indoctrinated her so much that the notion that with her people all gone then she’d see it as at least they wouldn’t be suffering any more. Idk but this needs to be addressed in the next movie and Thanos’ lie/manipulation with it needs to be addressed with it.

I really hope Avengers 4 just calls out Thanos’s bullshit and canonically says that no he’s just a deluded murderer who wants to think he’s a hero when in fact he’s a blood soaked monster
