My dear Frodo. Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
I always hated Guido and Rahne's reactions to Rictor and Shatterstar. Like, there are too many writers who think that LGBTQ+ character need to experience homophobia from people they love and it's gross and unnecessary!!
Yeah… I always thought that it sort of made sense in the beginning for Guido to joke about it. Like the scene in the van where they are talking about it and Guido is asking Rictor about why he never said anything, and Guido is making jokes about it, because he makes jokes when he is uncomfortable. But after Rictor tells him to knock it off? Guido would have backed off.
As for Rahne I was so pissed about it. Rahne had never done anything in the past to suggest that she was homophobic except literally being Catholic… and as a gay Catholic I was SUPER peeved about how hypocritical it was. Rahne being upset because she’d had a relationship with Rictor? I can understand that. But her literally trying to break up Shatterstar and Rictor… especially when the last time she saw Rictor she literally said that she just wanted him to be happy? I’m sorry but no.
Frankly, the only reaction that even made sense was Jamie.

concept: a runaways-type series but with a bunch of omega-level mutants who the government/the avengers/the x-men themselves have decided are too dangerous and must be contained/depowered/killed/whatever else
I’m gonna go ahead and say that hating kids is morally wrong even if you treat them with kindness regardless
also not wanting to have kids and not knowing how to interact with kids =/= hating kids. you can not want to have them, you can not know how to interact w them (it’s weird! it’s awkward sometimes! i get it) that’s fine, but it is really fucked up to hate them for those reasons or any other reason lol
