into darkness had absolutely NO business being so forgettably mediocre and then coming out of the left field with That Scene™

scotty: the warp core’s misaligned and we can’t fix it because the radiation would kill us
me, having already watched the wrath of khan and knowing full well what’s coming next: hoe…don’t do it…
jim: *knocks scotty out and enters the warp core chamber*
I like how considerate Thor is. I like the fact that Thor… he was thinking about Valkyrie, he was just like, “I’ll go off and not only get a weapon. I’ll go get some clothes for her as well, to inspire her. Give her a sense of place. Help her get her identity back. She’s been running from the truth and running from her past.” He’s just given her an opportunity to embrace it, to acknowledge who she is. She’s a Valkyrie.
i’ll never understand the really common thing in progressive political circles where people are like “you used to believe (x bad thing) but now you say you don’t believe that anymore and you want (x good thing)? You’re clearly just faking it and saying that because you’re running for office”
like the idea that people can learn and grow over time or can change their beliefs from listening to their constituents is met with snide rebuke? i get how people can be extremely disillusioned, especially in the current climate (i certainly am), but there are so many people who it seems like want people to stay bad and wrong forever just so they can continue to dislike them or make fun of them and because they see conscientious change as a weakness or something that’s impossible
I used to wonder about that myself. Thought it was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. A magical power holding together good and evil, the dark side and the light. Crazy thing is, it’s true. The Force. The Jedi…all of it. It’s all true.
