Reminder that George Lucas took an actual aspect of a real-world culture (Mongolian) and made it into an aesthetic for Star Wars.
There’s a great book called “The Empire Triumphant” by Kevin Wetmore that discusses all the appopriation and other culturally/racially/religiously problematic content in Star Wars.
