this website is poison for self-improvement because if you have anything more than a modest following and you fuck up and someone calls you on your bullshit, you’ll instantly get a horde of people being like “omg dont worry!!! you didnt do anything wrong!!!!!!” even if you very transparently Did do something wrong, only because they think similarly to you and they’re getting defensive on your behalf. i think it’s really important to learn how to figure out for yourself when you’ve fucked up, and how to say to people “no, actually, i /did/ do something wrong and i need to hold myself accountable for it” instead of letting yourself be wholly validated every time anyone comes to your defense.
