space elves + fantasy aliens theory: when eru made the world round, in the akallabeth, and removed aman to the depths of space far from the world, and made new lands, the difference between the oceans of the world and the oceans of heaven still was not absolute. Water was as yet only the second most defining aspect of the sea. In true being of the world as first devised, the first most defining aspect of the sea was endlessness, infinity, the deeps, the edge of the world. From the land that made up great unknown and untouched reaches of the uttermost west of aman, new lands were indeed created – some reachable by the bent roads of the oceans of earth, some only by the oceans of heaven.

These all too were the stuff of aman, of arda when the road to infinity was straight, to be stained or healed in their time by those peoples who dwelt in those lands scattered in the far darkness and followed one another to flourish in endless generations. And to be whispered to and gifted with threads of word and vision and memory, of things lost and unseen, by those peoples who passed them by for brief moments of their timelessness, as they sailed among the stars they loved.
