i see a lot of posts reminding people that they shouldn’t expect their friends to always be available, or demand they act as a stand-in therapist to vent to at any available opportunity, but i rarely see anyone saying it’s okay to take that advice yourself, and i think we should.

if your friend makes you feel guilty for not being on call 24/7/365, they’re not being a good friend, and you’re not a bad person for not wanting to interact every single time they message you.
