the wildest book i ever read was this one series i can’t remember the name of now but i CAN remember:

• it’s set in the victorian era, but they’ve discovered space travel. they still have cholera and steam power. but they can go to space.
• criminals and outlaws ride through space on literal pirate ships
• the antagonists of the second book were called ‘moobs’
• the main character’s mom was a shapeshifting alien and the last of her species and everyone really wants her dead for some reason.
