i have just over thirty thousand followers (which, in the influencer world, is absolutely laughable) on a dying social media platform that is hilariously unprofitable and run a blog that is entirely impossible to advertise or promote anything effectively on due to my rapidly changing interests, erratic blogging style and personal distaste for the influencer ‘industry’ as a whole meaning i’m incapable of and unwilling to compromise on my principles to promote flat tummy tea or vitamins to my followers for cash and profit. i don’t make a single penny from what i do on here. i accept that as someone with one of the more well-known blogs on here i might have some minor ‘‘‘influence’’’ in getting people to check out media i talk about a lot or buy products i mention using when asked about my skin/haircare routines but it’s highly unlikely that my actions are going to significantly affect popular culture. the closest tumblr has ever had to someone acting like an ‘‘‘influencer’’’ was probably that pink blog or maybe those blogs who all got banned for advertising diet pills and in both cases that ended terribly for all parties involved so… yeah, this ask doesn’t track.
