i mean, i try really hard not to talk about b*ggest-gaudiest-patronuses or like… anyone who i don’t like on this site because i used to be very negative about them and i realised that having a lot of followers means that i can unintentionally cause problems for people who don’t necessarily deserve it, although at this point there’s so many callouts about that gaud blog that i don’t think it’ll make much of a difference. but i think it’s really about posting style i guess???
like i think the main difference between me and the gaud blog (apart from all the weird and nasty stuff they’ve done that i haven’t) is that their posts very much rely on other people to participate in them in order to make them rebloggable. a lot of their posts are very general statements that other people add to, and it’s their followers’ additions that make the posts interesting (arguably. i personally don’t find them very funny but everyone has different tastes).
i’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing, because it can be nice for your followers to feel like they’re interacting with you and participating in some way when you post. it’s a form of entertainment, and i think it’s a big part of why gaud got so popular. but i personally am not a fan of that style of posting because a) a lot of my interests are too niche to generate enough responses to make decent posts in that way and b) it tends to lead to a lack of boundaries between you and other people, and those are very necessary in order to experience any enjoyment using this site and keep your followers safe, especially if you run a blog with a lot of people following it like i do. i sometimes make posts where people participate, or feature people’s comments if they’re particularly good, but in general most of my posts rely on me alone to tie them together. and i think the issue with relying on other people to contribute to your posts is that it can look a bit lazy after a while, and start to annoy people (which is what happened with gaud before they even got called out. people got bored of seeing very generic posts and started criticising them.)
idk if i even answered your question but uh… i guess i’m just very committed to producing enjoyable content??? like i know this is just a hobby and i don’t get paid for it or anything (and i don’t want to) but it is very rewarding to see people enjoy my posts, so i want to give back in some way by ensuring that those posts entertain as many people as possible. nothing makes me happier than seeing other people happy because i said something they found funny, relatable or interesting. it’s such a wonderful feeling.
