when crowley suggested that they defy both heaven and hell to run away together and aziraphale realized that the actual reason crowley cared about preventing the apocalypse wasn’t because he’d miss all the material things that he could only enjoy on earth but because he wouldn’t be able to enjoy them with aziraphale and you could hear the hope in his voice and see it physically manifest on his face as he repeated the words “go off… together?” before the brief spark that lit up his eyes in that moment died as he realized that there was no way it could never possibly work and that he had to get crowley to stop before he got himself into serious trouble
