Bail Organa

#i will reblog bail organa every time he comes across my dash#EVERY#TIME#you understand#in revenge of the sith#he is the only one who tries to help#he is the only one who sees the temple burning and tries to help#not even padme goes#padme’s life is in such a shambles by that point that she can’t do anything but stare#but bail organa#who isn’t even as CLOSE to the jedi as padme is#who doesn’t really have a personal stake in it like padme does#he goes#the temple is burning but nobody comes for the jedi’s children#except bail organa#who has to be forced away at gunpoint from this spectacle#who sees a ten year-old jedi child gunned down on the steps of the jedi’s own home#bail organa tries#he’s the only one who tries to do anything#and that’s why i love him#star wars (via panharmonium)

no but seriously bail organa isn’t a jedi, he’s not force-sensitive and he’s a young politician working in a senate that he knows is corrupt. he works with the jedi and puts everything he has behind trying to end a war that no one wanted. he literally puts a target on his back for no other reason than because it’s the right damned thing to do.

he goes to the jedi temple when it’s being ‘purged’ because he knows, he knows it’s the right thing to do. and he has to watch as a child, an innocent child who had done nothing more than actually be force-sensitive and raised in the temple, gets cut down defending him. PROTECTING HIM. and you can see it in his eyes as he watches this, as he is helpless to stop it. you can see how much it burns.

this man literally does not have anything invested in the jedi, not like padme does, he’s not married to a jedi, he doesn’t have jedi family. he stands by the order because he knows they’re trying to do the best in a chaotic, corrupt galaxy and need all the support they can get.

i just-

“evil triumphs when good men do nothing” but bail did everything he could at the time, and damn it he kept trying. it’s not that palpatine won in the end because people like padme and bail didn’t do anything. palaptine won, he destroyed the order, and turned the galaxy into a place of fear and suspicion because the good men died defending people that were too busy wanting something to hate instead of trying to learn and better themselves.
