oh my fucking god it doesn’t matter if there’s a trans character in the blood libel harry potter game because the profits from that game are going to be used to further the eradication of trans rights in the uk im literally begging people to use their brains for once

‘ohhh let people enjoy things’ look at me. look me in the eyes. the money you have spent is going to go to an influential transphobe. she is a major part of the anti-trans movement in the uk. by giving her money you are giving her more power and more influence that she will use to to further her transphobic agenda.

‘ohhh but i pirated it :)’ yeah i still don’t trust you. the game is antisemitic as hell and this has been public knowledge for months. i don’t much care for your support of trans people if you’re cool with antisemitism.

‘you’re blowing this way out of proportion’ nah i don’t think i am. i think you’ve made a choice and you’re not comfortable with the consequences of it. but unfortunately for you you can’t play Antisemitism: The Game made by the World’s Most Famous Transphobe and expect jewish people, trans people or their allies to like you.

not spending sixty quid on the Antisemitic Game That Funds Transphobia is literally the bare fucking minimum in allyship and some of you can’t even manage that

Okay so. Not mad, just trying to politely inform. "Old testament g-d" is an anti-semitic dogwhistle. Saying the "old testament g-d" is angry and unforgiving is a further dogwhistle. Thank you for your time

ah, i had no idea, but i did some googling after seeing this ask and i’m now aware that it can be used as an antisemitic dogwhistle, so i’ll make sure to be more careful with my words the next time i talk or joke about religion. i hope that the original context of my post being about christian saints (the veneration of which judaism doesn’t practice) makes it clear that i wasn’t trying to criticize the jewish faith or jewish people even jokingly, as i’m aware of how harmful that can be and that since i’m not jewish it’s not appropriate for me to do so, but i also realize that antisemites won’t bother to make that distinction, so i understand and apologize if anyone was hurt or concerned nonetheless. thank you for informing me.

Very much not my normal posting but since antisemitism is very actively rising, I feel like it’s worth it:

Pinely is a Youtuber who’s been doing a series on conspiracy theories and antisemitism. He’s Jewish himself and his videos do a good job at exploring how people fall down antisemitic rabbit holes and how conspiracy theories relate to antisemitism (he’s one of the only people ive seen who, when talking about shane dawson, specifically called out how antisemitism tied in to his shilling of conspiracy theories to kids). He’s also just very funny (in my opinion) and a Jewish, non-white, non-American commentary channel, which is rare and refreshing. If you want to learn more about antisemitism, his videos might be something to check out. I rarely ever see people call out antisemitism specifically in commentary videos even when they call out racism, misogyny, etc., which makes watching someone tackle antisemitism so head on very nice.

Ladyknightthebrave, who is Jewish too, does film theory type commentary there a some videos about the Holocaust in film that are just really worth watching.

Chamber of Spoilers videos are about Jewish representation, antisemitism in both media and life, variety of commentary from Jewish perspective. Also really worth watching.

in reference to the reblog about dracula and antisemitism - i don't wanna make this sound abrasive, but vampires and dracula absolutely have antisemitic origins. the lizard people conspiracy *did* come later and was coincidence which is worth talking about, but the rest is a lot deeper than that post says. a creature who has a hooked nose, big ears, is defeated by a cross, blood libels and stealing children, and was created during a time of high immigration, notably jewish ones? i appreciate your sentiment behind reblogging that, but it's true, and worth talking about. doesn't mean you can't enjoy dracula, but it helps to view it under a critical eye!

you don’t sound abrasive! but i think that is what the post (this one for people who haven’t seen it) says? like it says there are other elements of dracula that are have antisemitic implications, using the example of immigration. it doesn’t say that dracula doesn’t have any antisemitic elements, and i am aware of them and i think i reblogged a different post before about enjoying dracula while being aware of the antisemitic sentiments that influenced certain aspects of it. thank you for taking the time to inform me though, it’s always good to have a reminder.

oh good apparently the weird dracula discourse has begun

guys, the association between jews and lizard people only dates back to the late 20th century because one specific conspiracy theorist, david icke, made it a thing that caught on. obviously i don’t speak for all jews and if you’re a jew and you’re uncomfortable by all means let people know, but if you’re a gentile maybe like sit this one out? please? i appreciate that y'all mean well but you’re really not helping jewish people by going to bat for us over your surface level understanding of what antisemitism actually is or what the lizard stuff actually means

like personally i think the lizard jokes about dracula are fine. he literally crawls along the wall like a lizard and that’s funny to joke about. the lizard thing is specifically a problem when it patterns itself off of much older antisemitic conspiracy theories, but the lizard aspect only dates back to like 1994. it has nothing to do with dracula. i am begging you people to learn to address antisemitism beyond aesthetics because y'all keep looking for hooked noses and horns and scales when an actual example of antisemitism that’s shown up in dracula since the emails started is stuff like the way dracula’s desire to assimilate into english society is framed as creepy and uncanny

look, sometimes good allyship is sitting down and not talking until you fully understand an issue because otherwise you’re going to confuse the discourse without addressing the actual, underlying issues you’re trying to help us with. cool? cool. thanks

the racism/orientalism/antisemitism/homophobia/general “fear of the other” in dracula is such an integral part of the text and i feel like you are missing so much of what dracula is about if you are not picking up on those overtones. i love dracula a lot but i don’t think there is any use in ignoring those aspects of it or pretending they don’t exist - in fact, i think that would show a very shallow understanding of the text. i don’t have any resentment towards ppl who are reading dracula daily and making silly little joke posts about their friend jonathan harker, i love to make those jokes as well, but i do hope that the experience of reading this novel helps some people understand the sheer xenophobia and bigotry that is at the heart of this novel and lots of other iconic horror fiction. i’ve learned not to underestimate the obliviousness of white gentiles but i hope people realize it is not random that count dracula has nebulous eastern ancestry and his plan is to take over england like i hope that does not go over your guys heads.

we need to have a serious talk about antisemitism in America. yesterday, there was a hostage situation in a synagogue in Texas, where a gunman took for people including a rabbi hostage. he wanted to have some guy released from prison. I forget who, but he was charged with 80 something years back in 2010. so what do you think this gunman does? does he contact the police or the president and demand the prisoner be released?

no. he tells the rabbi to call another rabbi in New York, and to have that rabbi release the prisoner. now, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that his plan was completely stupid. the rabbi in New York had no relation to with prisoner, the prison he was in, or even the justice system at all. so why did the gunman think that the new york rabbi would have the authority to release a random prisoner who was sentenced 12 years ago? one word. antisemitism

most antisemites have the insane belief that all Jews are secretly controlling the world, or the government, or the banks, or natural disasters, or… you get it. its entirely based on fake and antisemitic conspiracy theories, and it literally gets people killed. this gunman thought that a rabbi in New York had the authority and power and ability to release a prisoner who I’m pretty sure isn’t even imprisoned in the state of New York (don’t quote me on that though).

antisemitic conspiracy theories, even as jokes, literally get us Jews hurt or killed. those are your “lizard people”. your “space lasers”. your “new world order”. your “George Soros money”. all those insane baseless conspiracy theories, even as a joke, cause severe damage to Jews. because people will believe it.

I haven’t seen any non-Jews talk about what happened yesterday. that’s not surprising. very rarely will goyim care about Jews unless one of their close friends is Jewish. but it’s still upsetting. there is still so much antisemitism and hate towards Jewish people in the world today.

I said it in the tags of a post but honestly, I feel like I need to make my own post because while we’re doing the whole “stop supporting jkr!” thing I need everyone to remember that not only is she blatantly transphobic (and specifically transmisogynistic), but that she and her books are incredibly racist and antisemitic.

Appropriating Indigenous American cultures for her American wizard school. Making all of the bankers in her books hook-nosed goblins. Naming the ONLY East Asian character in the books “Cho Chang” and putting her in the “smart people house”. The way that she treats the Patil Twins, the only two other Asians, and the only South Asians in the series. The way that she treats ALL her characters of color. JKR’s racism has always been there. People just seem to gloss over it for some reason and to be honest, I’m getting really frustrated and tired of constantly adding that racism is a problem in the notes of these posts. And this is literally just based on Harry Potter! The rest of her stuff surely has even more problems!

I don’t want to downplay her transphobia. That’s a huge issue that, I, especially as a trans person, cannot emphasize enough! But as a person of color, I feel like I need to remind y'all that it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

I think OP of this post I rbed about JKR’s racism specifically against Indigenous Americans put it perfectly. This has made it painfully obvious that people are white before they are queer.

It’s not that hard just to acknowledge her racism alongside her transphobia. If you’re making a post about her remember that she’s shitty in so many other ways, and she’s always been shitty.

I know this is long but I’m rambling, so…

tl;dr JKR is racist as well as transphobic. Just acknowledge that in your pleas for people to stop supporting her. Please. It’s literally so easy. anyways jkr’s a piece of shit and I hope she burns in hell!!

- sincerely, a trans poc who’s tired of this shit

I did a deep dive into her non-white wizarding schools for a presentation I did and oh boy

-the japanese school is in iwo jima (wow), they have color-coded robes like karate belts, the name of the school is grammatically incorrect with her “canon” pronunciation butchering the words

-the african school is in Uganda but it’s named after the capital of Burkina Faso and on her maps it’s located in the Congo and when you’re invited to the school, you get a rock sent to you

-african wizards dont have wands they just point at things and all of them can naturally turn into animals (YIKES)

-the brazilian school is hidden in the amazon rainforest and disguised as “a ruined stone temple” despite the fact that no masonry historically occurred in the rainforest, making a stone temple an absolutely obtrusive and terrible disguise

jk rowling is literally so fucking dumb and racist she can’t be bothered with anything that doesn’t have to do with white people

Holy shit I didn’t even know about any of this. That is absurdly racist.

leftist antisemites are really everywhere on this hellsite making & reblogging their posts like “the Jews have too much power and privilege and actually their very recent genocide was not that bad compared to what my group experiences and antisemitism doesn’t even exist in my country and especially not in liberal spaces”

Goyim should reblog posts like this one instead of always only acknowledging antisemitism when it is about jk rowling’s goblins or easy shit like that.

Challenge the antisemitism that is coming from inside the house. Be a little brave. Because you will lose followers for reblogging a post like this, because there are antisemites following you that think this way, and assume you do too.

Your trauma from Christianity isn’t an excuse to be antisemitic, you just suck. Judaism and Christianity are nothing alike. Just because you’re pagan now doesn’t mean you get to be a bigot.

and please for the love of God stop acting like you know anything about Jewish tradition just because you grew up Christian.
