can we share a mind bc i love this
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
1. wormwood, the star/comet that falls and poisons the water of the earth in Revelations, is sometimes referred to as an angel, and i think there’s some really cool & tragic symbolism to one of heaven’s own falling and wreaking destruction like that, even if it’s only fanon lore
2. in milton’s paradise lost, raphael confirms that angels have sex. and it’s really good sex, apparently. (again, though, this is just bible fanfiction, so take it or leave it as you will)
a lot of the descriptions of angels and demons and other supernatural creatures and forces in modern literature is actually inspired by milton. the mortal instruments series is one such example which takes heavy inspiration from his work
3. angels technically have free will, but they choose not to exercise it. doing so is likely to get you banished to hell with satan and his gucci gang. (your mileage my vary on this one, since there are a lot of conflicting opinions on angelic free will)
4. not really lore exactly but some of my favorite unsettling angel character designs are those that emphasize how structurally different they are to humans. one of my personal favorite descriptions of angels in their true forms was as like great yet physically impossible architectural monuments, far too perfectly designed to be comprehensible to the human brain (i can’t remember which book i read that in now though, unfortunately).
5. since angels are so ‘other’ from humans, their comprehension of morality may not always align with our own. for example, an angel might not think anything of accidentally driving someone mad or smiting them because they got curious enough to peek at them in their true form, since in the old testament (which is where most inspiration for angelic literature comes from originally) there is a strong emphasis on respect for and even fear of god. an angel would probably in this case express sorrow at the loss of a life, but also consider it justified since the individual in question should have had faith rather than letting their curiosity get the better of them. similarly, an angel may aid another who you consider to be immoral, such as a thief or murderer, because god has plans for them which require them to be protected long enough for those plans to come to pass. they may not take your side even if you are, by our moral standards, in the right. it’s similar to what tv tropes calls ‘blue and orange morality’.

me:

i don’t have a million posts but i’m afraid there really is no set formula for making posts that get a lot of notes. it honestly is just a case of how many people see it and having more followers so it’s more likely that people will see it. i didn’t used to make posts that got so many notes as frequently and some of my posts definitely wouldn’t get notes if i didn’t have a lot of followers. i’m sorry i can’t give you more helpful advice.
you’re very welcome!
