I looked further into it out of curiosity and to see how this happened and how he’s healing.
Turns out that he had just turned 18 the month that this happened (it was an atv accident) and because of that, the medical debt is all now in his name. Him and his family are asking for donations from those able to do so to help with his recovery costs. He fractured every bone in his hand, degloved it and had to have his ring finger amputated; apparently 6 different hospitals wanted to just amputate the hand but they searched until they found one willing to try surgery to fix it first so he’s said that more fingers may need to be amputated in the future based on how well it heals.

Good news: I started working today and I already love it!
Bad news: thought my first pay check would be in two weeks but it won’t be for a month because while it’s a new pay period, the checks are two weeks behind so I won’t see anything until Sept. 15!
Worse news: my insurance benefits also don’t kick in for 90 days
Even worse news: unemployment STILL hasn’t reviewed my documents so there’s nothing

Hey so it’s not easy asking for help like this, but my first paycheck from my new job was incredibly messed up. It was missing 75% of my hours, all of my time and a half pay I’m supposed to be receiving and all of the overtime that I worked. My manager has reached out to HR, and is waiting for a reply from them but told me most likely it will be added onto my next check. I’m praying that won’t be the case, because I’ll need to pay my car payment before the next paycheck as well as get my medication. I don’t know how to make this work with the $240 I have. If there’s any way I could get the $360 I’ll need for the bills/medication and just a little extra for gas, you can even let me know your info to pay you back when I get paid if you’d need.

hello all. i am a disabled Afro-Indigenous mobility aid user. i recently came to realize that a walker/cane won’t cut it for me anymore as my job requires a lot of walking and i have to take the bus everywhere. i started trying out mobility scooters at the grocery store and realized that they actually work quite well for me!
so this is where y'all come in. i need help raising money for a (probably) used mobility scooter. i found a few on fb marketplace for about 800 and a few new ones for just a bit more than that. so i made a money pool on p@yp@l to help me.
my goal is $1,100. meeting it would mean so much for me as well as allow me to go more places and do more things.
additionally, after the earthquake, haiti suffered an outbreak of cholera. this cholera was brought to haiti by the un, something that took them more than 5 years to admit and killed more than 10000 people.
all of this is to say, do not donate to the red cross, the un, the clinton foundation or usaid. there will be those who say that these are reputable organizations with which to trust your money, but don’t fall for it. these imperialist organizations failed and caused suffering in haiti and should be met with suspicion when they ask for your money.
instead, focus your support on the actual haitian people and organizations run on the ground by haitians in haiti, not ngos organized without any connection to the country. support haitians in the diaspora to support their families back in haiti. one example of a trusted organization is the haiti emergency relief fund supported by the haiti information project, they work directly with organizations in okay (les cayes) that were impacted by the earthquake. send $$$ there or to other trusted anti-imperialist orgs before any kind of usaid type of situation.
hey guys i hate to be a bother but my city recently went into a hard lockdown that’s currently a week long, and will potentially be even longer, because we’re dealing with the delta strain. this means i’ve lost a weeks worth of pay and with bills coming up this week i’m really going to be struggling. if anyone is able to help a chronically ill, non-binary bisexual get by i’d really appreciate it. <3
i don’t start my job as a school counselor until halfway through august so i’m not getting paid at all and i still need clothes and new shoes, all of my shoes have holes in them and are falling apart and i want to look presentable, if anyone has any money to spare i’d really appreciate some help getting ready. my surgery has made commissions very slow so i can’t take enough commissions to cover everything and still have a queue i’m working through, if anyone has anything to spare i would really appreciate it. once this job starts i won’t need anything hopefully forever
