I am excited to say I had a great first day at my job! A lot to take in, but it’s a great opportunity that will hopefully make it where I won’t ever need help like this again. I need to have a working phone for this job, and I need to get my uniform for tomorrow!! My phone bill is $105 with the réactivation fee from last month and my uniform should only cost about $50. As some of you may already know, I’m currently living in my car since my last landlord moved away to their mother’s home after she contracted Covid, and both my mom and dad died 5 months apart and I don’t have family to turn to for help with this. I’m having some problems with my medication and my psychiatrist said that I have to do partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient three times a week in addition to regular weekly therapy. If you have literally anything you could donate so that I can pay for all of this, my Venmo and CashApp are @newtvargas. It’s going to be $20 per session plus gas and parking, and I honestly have no idea how I’m going to do it without help. But it’s the only thing keeping me from being committed to a regular psych hospital and ending up in even worse medical debt, so if you’ve got a few dollars lying around, I’d appreciate it more than I can express. I really don’t want to be hospitalized for two weeks while we sort this out.

I got the money for meds, and I am so, so grateful, but a couple of you wanted a full explanation, so:

For the last year and a half, I’ve been applying for disability for my bipolar disorder and PTSD. Yes, it’s really been that long. I’m on my second lawyer now, because the first one only used records from my time living in Texas and completely blew my case.

During the application process, you pretty much can’t have any income or else it “proves” you could theoretically work a full time job, so I’ve been surviving doing odd jobs here and there, but it doesn’t always cut it.

Money has been a nightmare. I don’t think a lot of people understand how dehumanizing it is to live off of donations and what you can scrape together. I’ve gotten death threats, sexual assault threats, and been called every mean name you can think of for asking for help. It’s exhausting and by no means is it me “using my clout because I don’t want to work”.

I know people have it worse! Believe me, I do, but this whole process has been hell and until I can get back to normal, I may need some help with meds and such here and there every so often. I’m doing what I can when I can, and your help has meant the world to me. Please keep sending me pictures of your pets.

please help me afford top surgery!

I’m a brown disabled nonbinary transmasc person trying to reduce my everyday dysphoria and general mental health by getting top surgery. I’m unable to bind due to asthma and chronic illness so this is super necessary for my gender euphoria and reducing social dysphoria for me.

I’m on benefits, unable to work, not covered by any sort of health insurance, and it’s not something that I have the money to save for at the moment, but I also can’t wait years to (possibly) get top surgery through a GIC, so I’m having to go private.

£7155 is the cost for surgery for the surgeon I’ve chosen, and it’s £150 for the consultation with them. Between fuel costs for my partner to drive us there and back from surgery, possibly needing to spend a night in a travelodge before driving back, and recovery supplies like bio oil and self care items, I’ll need another £150 for surgery-related expenses. Total is £7455 for surgery/related expenses.
