The fact that Steve Harrington steps up to be a kind of father figure for Dustin, driving him to the Snow Ball, giving him romantic advice (just like Lucas got from his dad) etc., is incredible for so many reasons. Not only does Dustin not have that positive male presence in his life but from what’s been implied, neither does Steve. I can hardly imagine Steve’s dad telling his son that he looks like a million bucks or driving little middle-school Steve to a school dance. So honestly bless Steve Harrington and not inheriting his own father’s toxic behaviour.
