I’ve made jokes before about how, despite being treated like the stars of the book, Crowley and Aziraphale do absolutely nothing that actually affects the plot or its outcome (except, possibly, arguing with Beelz and the Metatron), and how the humans are the ones who do all of the actual moving of the action, but I have somehow never realized until now how incredibly thematically significant that is.
not going to lie, this is one of my favorite narrative choices ever, because it’s both thematically fitting AND utterly hilarious
concept: aziraphale has to fight a constant battle to get his bookshop off google maps. somehow it always gets put back on, listed as a business so people can find it. things escalate, and he takes a trip to google hq to sort things out once and for all
alternately, yelp reviews: “1/5 bookstore was only open midnight to 3am every fourth thursday”, “would give zero stars if possible suspect there was black mold”,”ambushed by large snake”, “5/5 dinner at the ritz was excellent, back room is honestly the best place to get drunk”
