im usually pretty casual about the fact that we inhabit a vast, possibly endless and largely uncharted universe but every so often im forced to actually acknowledge that and when i do i just go crazy. i go absolutely stupid and apeshit and insane.

This dark, tangled web is a supernova remnant, created after a massive star ended its life in a cataclysmic explosion. This created the messy formation we see in this NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope image, with threads of red snaking amidst dark, turbulent clouds. [3945 x 4165]
