Being an anti has nothing to do with your stances on shipping minors/adults or anything like that. An anti is someone who will either outright attack someone for shipping something or goes into a ship tag that they don’t approve of and either put hate there or something nsfw imagery. Essentially if your a ship and let ship person, nmw u ship ur not an anti, but if u deliberately go after peeps who ship ur NOTP and attack them an stuff, ur an anti. Idk if u care but I just thought I’d clear it up

Okay but I’m not ship and let ship when it involves minor/adult pairings. Minor/adult ships are my NOTP and I do think minor/adult pairings and the people producing that content should be actively shamed out of fandom spaces so. by definition if that makes me an anti I’m cool with that.

I don’t know if this is deliberate or not, but I really want to call attention to the way this is worded to make it look like people who ship inherently unacceptable pairings are the goods guys who are victims of unprovocated attacks.

People who ignore pedophilic ships are the good guys. “Ship and let ship,” no matter what. They believe we can all coexist in the same fandom space and have a good time.

But the people who are actively against pedophilic, incestuous, etc ships and who seek out the adults producing that content? Those are “antis,” the bad guys.

And then the genius of it is that the “anti” label is also used for people who ARE actually just plain old jerks and who attack people just because they’re shipping something that IS innocent that they don’t like.

So the word used to label people against pedophilia is also used for people who are being mean for no reason, thus grouping them together and making it possible to invalidate the first group.

“OP is an anti.” People who understand anti to mean “attacks people who don’t agree with their ships” will understandably think “wow, OP is a jerk!” And they may not look any further and discover OP actually only actively shames people who ship pedophilia, incest, etc.

These same people use excuses such as mental illness, their own history of abuse, etc. to argue that they cannot be shamed for their content, because it’s discrimination against them.

They are using concepts of social justice and bigotry to their advantage to rearrange the situation so that they are the victims.

So actually let’s stop calling people against minor/adult shipping content “antis” and just call them “Correct.”

People are really like “: ( oh I have to unfollow you now.”

Good! If you disagree with what I’ve said here, unfollow me. You are Not going to win me over. No argument about how fiction does or doesn’t affect the real world, no link to some post about shipping as coping mechanisms, and nothing you have to say is going to change my mind on this.

I am not going to have a civil discussion with you about why you think it’s okay to ship incest, adult/minors, pedophilia, etc. If you think that makes me unreasonable, I am okay with that.

Not to sound petty and stuck-up, but I have a larger platform than your weird “pedophilia shipping is ok” fanblog will ever have, and I am more than happy to use it to make this opinion known, and I will not miss you. I don’t even check my follower count anymore. I will not notice you leave. You’re not the winner. Thank you.

just in case you havent heard it today:

  • you are feared
  • your six wings, gleaming body, and multiple pairs of torch eyes are beautiful
  • your thunder voice will get better and increasingly more vehement with time
  • you are valid
