I like to pretend that these two were the brotp that could rival Julian and O'Brien; Garak would teach her how to sew and that’s how her artistic talent bloomed, and they would talk about hot people together in Quarks, and Garak would tell her all about the cultures he visited while in the Obsidian Order, and Ziyal would throw food at him whenever he practiced his lying on her, and she would laugh whenever Garak seriously feared for his life after getting stared down by Kira, and nothing was forced and nothing was awkward because they were just zany, Cardassian best friends .

And that makes me satisfied.
